Welcome to Daily Bread Bakery, located in Manassas, VA! My name is Jordan and I am a stay-at-home mom with my daughter Elanor and a second on the way. At Daily Bread Bakery, everything is made from scratch in my home kitchen using fresh milled flour. I mill the flour right before baking in order to create baked goods how God intended, full of fiber and nutrients and without preservatives. From nutritious sourdough bread to delicious cinnamon rolls and cookies, every item is baked with love and care. Fresh milled flour has had a positive impact on my and my family's lives, and I am excited to be able to share this with my community. Thank you for supporting my home bakery!

I learned about freshly milled bread from Sue Becker’s podcast, but I haven’t seen any fresh-milled bakeries around here until Jordan’s opened up. I have suffered from severe eczema and really have to watch my diet so I’m so excited this is organic/ glyphosate free as well as really filling and nutritious. If it weren’t for Daily Bread Bakery I wouldn’t be eating bread at all (otherwise I get fake keto bread from sprouts/ Whole Foods). Also, the bread and baked goods Jordan sells taste amazing. I slice and freeze the sourdough bread right away to preserve the nutrients/ taste and just pop a slice in the toaster every day. Great with just butter and sometimes I have some pumpkin butter on it. 10/10 recommend!

Grain has three parts: the bran, germ, and endosperm. White flour is made by removing the bran and the germ. This makes the flour shelf stable, lighter, and uniform. It makes mass selling much easier. Sadly, the bran and the germ are where the vast majority of the nutrients are. Have you ever wondered how in old stories people could live off of only bread and water? It's because they used flour that contained every part of the grain. Fresh milled flour contains 40 of the 44 essential nutrients (the others are found in fruits and vegetables). Fresh milled flour contains much more fiber than white flour which helps with digestion, blood sugar regulation, and helps you to stay full longer. The germ contains oil which oxidizes over time, similar to fruits and vegetables. When whole, grain stays good pretty much indefinitely. The nutrients in flour degrade over time, so fresh milled flour is much healthier than whole wheat flour.
I can only speak from my own experience. I began milling my own flour at the beginning of 2026. The first thing I noticed after eating it every day was that I was much less tired. We often think of bread as a treat and as something that turns to sugar in our bodies. Bread made with fresh milled flour actually gives energy instead of draining it. I went from having to nap every day to rarely feeling the need to take a nap at all. The second thing I noticed was that I ate less at meals and stayed full for longer. When I had a slice of bread with dinner or ate homemade fresh milled pasta, I didn't feel the need to go back for seconds. I also stopped snacking as much between meals. The final thing I noticed was the impact it had on others. The main reason I decided to buy my mill was because I wanted to provide the best to my daughter and my family. I feel so much better knowing that the bread I give them is nutritious. I love baking blueberry muffins or waffles with my daughter and knowing that she is being nourished by this food. A few members of my family that I bake for don't eat white flour because they are sensitive to it in one way or another. All of them can eat goods made with fresh milled flour and don't experience any ill effects. God gave us everything we needed to survive and to thrive in just grain and fruits and vegetables. Grain is not supposed to be an empty carb. It is supposed to be what sustains us and gives us energy to live each day.
